| Position: Civil Engineer Office: Los Angeles, CA Responsibilities: Design wastewater treatment projects utilizing City Standards to design brine water lines, fresh water lines, high and low pressure effluent lines, industrial cost water, fresh water lines, potable water lines, polymer lines, irrigation water lines and fire protection lines. Design storm drains, catch basins and maintenance holes and utilize APWA to design cross sections, plans an profiles of street. Provide design and engineering support to the Project Engineer/Manager of wastewater-treatment plant projects. Requirements: Minimum 8 years experience working with Microstation MSJ, IRASB. Must have worked with reference files and cell libraries and understand CAD standards and methodologies. Must have experience or knowledge of raster files or scanned drawings. Must be able to consider various design alternatives and must be able to provide engineering and design recommendations. Experience with the preparation of wastewater treatment and pumping plant engineering drawings. Ability to layout and perform design/drafting of engineering drawings from verbal direction, rough sketches or from scanned backgrounds. Preferences: Prior experience in the design and construction of sewage treatment facility or related industrial setting. Knowledge of City CAD Standards and Procedures. | Position: Project Engineer Office: San Diego, CA Description: Dean Ryan is looking for staff-level geologist, hydrogeologist, or environmental engineer (~2 to 5 years experience) and a project-level geologist, hydrogeologist, or environmental engineer (5 or more years experience). Job location is San Diego. The staff-level person would work as part of a project team, complete specific tasks under the direction of project and/or senior-level personnel. The project-level person would be expected to be more of a self-starter and be responsible for multiple and complex assignments, and direct junior staff for task execution. The project-level person also needs to be a proficient technical writer with good communication skills. Requirements: Both should be 40-hour HAZWOPER trained, experienced in environmental sampling (soil borings, monitoring well installation, soil gas surveys, etc.), environmental data evaluation, and technical report writing. Other plus factors would be experience working on Navy projects, CERCLA/RCRA investigations, California UST regulations, and Professional registration. | Position: Senior Project Manager, Water Resource Planning Office: Sacramento, CA Description: Successful candidate will lead the strategic water resources management and planning activities within the Northern California region based in Dean Ryanís Sacramento, California office. Candidate will have 15-20 years experience synthesizing hydrology, engineering, law and policy into comprehensive water management plans that emphasize operational flexibility and system-wide diversity primarily for the Northern California region. Requirements: Experience with the preparation of long-term drought contingency and water conservation plans, development of NEPA/CEQA environmental documents for a variety of water resource planning related projects in the California Mid Pacific Region. Responsible for leading alternatives analysis, permit assistance, SOW development and delivery of public involvement presentations. You will prepare/oversee development of technical sections of environmental documents, and provide technical and quality assurance review. Lead and mentor junior staff in the area of environmental planning for water resources and planning projects. Successful candidate will participate in business development activities to help grow the environmental planning business in the Northern/Central California market. Requires 15+ years water resource related environmental planning work history with relevant BS (MS preferred) degree. Excellent working knowledge of NEPA (and state equivalents) requirements for water resource projects, with land use and environmental policy analysis expertise, and state and local permitting experience needed. Qualified candidate will have proven project management and business development skills. Must possess proficient oral and written communication skills, and ability to effectively participate in public meetings and advisory committees. AICP certification desired. Preferences: The candidate should have recognized leadership and experience in the water resources planning market and be involved in local and national professional organizations. This individual will be the companyís prime contact with key water resource planning agency clients for overall work progress and technical performance. Must be capable of scoping, budgeting, scheduling, providing safe work practices, coordinating subcontractors, leading the project delivery team, identifying the potential client issues, and successfully managing the project to provide the clients cost-effective and technically-viable solutions. Ability to generate layouts with minimal direction in a highly cost effective, timely, and productive manner. Ability to accurately estimate the cost of drawing production. Applies knowledge of established standards and familiar with materials of pipes and fittings and layout of equipment.
